FX’s popular and critically-acclaimed crime drama Snowfall completed its sixth season in April 2023; however, there will not be a seventh. FX officially announced that Snowfall has officially ended and it’s time for fans to bid farewell to their beloved characters.
Snowfall, an intriguing crime drama set during Los Angeles’s 80s crack cocaine epidemic, offers an engaging narrative. Centered around drug dealer Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), viewers will see his journey from teenager to business owner alongside the nation-wide war on drugs.

Snowfall would come to its natural conclusion after six seasons and thus had reached its endpoint, yet fans were left dismayed when it was announced in April 2023 that Snowfall will end. Though fans were disappointed at first, this news wasn’t unexpected and fans quickly got over their sadness as soon as it hit home.
Season 6 culminated with an exciting and satisfying conclusion, featuring Franklin handing Ruben over to the CIA while moving back in with Cissy. Leon also returned from Ghana while Gustavo returned to wrestling, along with two years being added onto his life timeline in a single scene at the conclusion of Season 6.

IF THE SHOW RETURNS, it may continue the story of how the federal government brings down a drug empire. We could see DeVaughn Nixon return as rival drug dealer Kane and Alejandro Edda reprise his role as KGB spy Ruben. There’s even the possibility that Avi Drexler might appear briefly as part of a flashback sequence to recall their journey together with Franklin and team.
Snowfall fans were taken aback when FX announced its cancellation after seven seasons, even though critics and viewers alike found the show compelling and enjoyable. Fans should take comfort knowing there are numerous other great shows out there to keep watching in its place.
There are also several spinoffs in development, including 10,000 Ships: an early prequel series set 1000 years before Westeros and featuring characters connected with Arya Stark. Plans also exist for an ongoing series to follow Jon Snow (Kit Harington)’s adventures in Flea Bottom but they may not yet be ready for primetime viewing.
One of the most exciting spinoffs from The Big Bang Theory will be Young Sheldon, which will follow Sheldon from his childhood through high school years and is being developed collaboratively by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, Sheldon creators.
Yellowstone will feature David Duchovny as Samuel Bass Reeves from Stranger Things and will follow iconic lawmen throughout history, produced by Matt and Ross Duffer of Stranger Things fame. It will premiere its inaugural episode in 2021 with its second season airing soon thereafter.
