Southampton have endured a tough start to the season under Mark Hughes. The Saints are currently placed 16th in the Premier League standings, just a shade above the relegation zone.
Although they haven’t been outrightly poor, Mark Hughes’ men have picked up only a solitary win from their first nine games. Much of their woes have been down to their poor goalscoring form.
However, they will have a good chance of turning their fortunes around when Newcastle pay them a visit on Saturday. The Magpies are yet to register their first win and sit bottom of the table with just two points.
Southampton will be looking to rediscover their goalscoring mojo in an encounter between two of the lowest scoring sides in the Premier League.
There are no injuries or suspensions for Mark Hughes to worry about barring a minor knee sprain to Mario Lemina.
The manager is unlikely to ring any significant changes for Saturday’s game.
He has been in good form this season and has saved his team on numerous occasions with some stunning saves.

He put in a solid shift a the back for the Saints against Bournemouth and should be one of the first names on the team sheet for Saturday’s game.
Put in a crunching challenge to deny Callum Wilson in the last game and should be high on confidence for the next game.
The former Chelsea man has been solid at the back and has provided impetus to the attack with intelligent overlapping runs.
Hasn’t been in good form this season. He has lacked that creative influence but the Saints do not have too many options on the bench either.
Mario Lemina picked up a knee injury in the last game which might keep him out of action for the fixture against Newcastle.
The Danish international has contributed to the build-up play with his passing and vision and will be the key to their success on Saturday.
He has shown a lot of energy and endeavour but has lacked the end product to speak for his efforts.
He is yet to find the net this season but should be aiming to break his duck this weekend.
He has scored three goals and has by far been Southampton’s most potent attacker. In fact, Hughes must bank on him to deliver the goods against Newcastle.
