American star Sofia Kenin reached the final of the 2020 Australian Open and will face Garbine Muguruza
It has been quite a ride for American tennis star Sofia Kenin at the 2020 Australian Open.
The 21-year-old reached her first Grand Slam final by defeating Australian Ash Barty, who was also ranked No.1 for the tournament.
Kenin did apologise to the fans after making it to the final, but she should have a great chance of picking up her first Grand Slam.
The final won’t be easy against Garbine Muguruza, but there are some parties who are confident of Kenin getting the job done.
The American is extremely active on Instagram and posted several updates after her semi-final win over Barty.
The 21-year-old loves sharing images and photos from other accounts too, and one photograph, in particular, grabbed our attention.
Kenin shared one photograph from a fan group which claimed that the next photo they would put up is of the American winning the 2020 Australian Open.
The pair have only met once in their professional career and it is Muguruza who has the advantage with a win in 2019.
Kenin’s rise in 2019
Although Muguruza has the edge ahead of the final, the unseeded star is a little inconsistent.
Kenin, for her part, had a tremendous 2019 and won several WTA titles.
The 21-year-old also picked up the most improved player award from the WTA last year, and her rise has been further confirmed thanks to this final.
Muguruza does have another advantage ahead of the final with two Grand Slam wins in her career.
