Predicted Arsenal XI to face Fulham in the Premier League

Arsenal suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat a the hands of Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday and the Gunners will fancy their chances of getting back to winning ways when they play host to Fulham on New Year day.

Unai Emery’s men sit 5th in the standings with 38 points from 20 games, five points behind 4th-placed Chelsea and they need to turn the tables quickly if they are to play Champions League football next season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s last-minute winner gave Fulham all three points against Huddersfield Town last week but they will be up against it on Tuesday.

Team News

Unai Emery has a long list of injuries to contend with heading into the mid-week clash. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ankle), Hector Bellerin (calf), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Rob Holding (knee) and Danny Welbeck (ankle) are all rule out while Nacho Monreal (thigh) and Mesut Ozil (knee) are doubtful to play a part.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

1. Bernd Leno (GK)

He conceded 5 goals in the last game and will be expected to put in a better shift between the sticks on New Year day.

2. Stephan Lichtsteiner (RB)

The veteran was caught out numerous times at the back against Liverpool but Emery has little choice in the absence of Bellerin.

3. Sokratis (CB)

The Greek international had a nightmarish outing against Liverpool and the Gunners will need him to do better on Tuesday.

4. Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

The German had a horrible time at the heart of the defence in the last game but Emery doesn’t have too many better options.
