Predicted Manchester United XI to face Huddersfield Town in the Premier League

Manchester United made a positive start to life under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 5-1 drubbing of Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils welcome Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day and they will be the favourites to claim all three points against a struggling opposition.

David Wagner’s men lost 3-1 to Southampton last week and the Terriers will need to turn their fortunes around if they are to avoid the drop this term.

Team News

Alexis Sanchez (thigh) and Romelu Lukaku are ruled out for the mid-week clash while Chris Smalling and Scott McTominay will be pushing for a return. Solskjaer is not expected to make too many changes to the team that played Cardiff on Saturday.

5. Luke Shaw (LB)

He put in a solid shift at the back and combined well with Martial and Pogba down the left.

6. Nemanja Matic (CDM)

The Serb looked completely a different player in Solskjaer’s first game in charge and played the role of a pivot in the midfield to act as the link between the defence and the attack.

7. Paul Pogba (LCM)

The Frenchman came back to his very best last week with some exquisite passing and link-up play in the attacking third.

8. Ander Herrera (RCM)

The Spaniard will be high on confidence after finding the net in the last game and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

9. Anthony Martial (LW)

He capped off some mesmerizing one-touch build-up play with a goal and was a much more influential figure in the final third than he has been all season.

10. Jesse Lingard (RW)

The Englishman showed some good link-up play and languid passing in the attacking third. He capped off a fine display with a goal from the penalty spot and should start against Huddersfield.

The youngster showed exactly why he is held in such high regard at Old Trafford and deserves another start.
