Manchester United Prediction: Probable XI to face Watford
Manchester United welcome Watford at Old Trafford on Sunday aiming to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
The Red Devils closed down the gap to top four by beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Following that, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Club Brugge in Belgium in the first leg of Europa League round of 32 on Thursday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will expect a better performance from his boys at the weekend against Watford, who are looking for their first Premier League win since January 12, when they beat Bournemouth.
Team News
Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe have returned to full training but it remains to be seen whether or not they’ll be fit to be in the squad against Watford. Mason Greenwood didn’t travel with the Manchester United squad to Club Brugge because of illness but he could be fit to face the Hornets.
Manchester United Prediction: Probable XI
Formation: 3-4-1-2
David de Gea (GK)
De Gea kept a clean sheet at Chelsea and will be aiming to shut the shop as quickly as possible against Watford as well.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RWB)
Wan-Bissaka has been a consistent performer in his debut campaign for Manchester United. He will start at right wing-back on Sunday.
Victor Lindelof (RCB)
Lindelof returned to the United starting XI and had a decent game against Club Brugge on Thursday. The Swede will retain his place at the back.
Harry Maguire (CB)
One of the first names on the team sheet, Maguire needs to at his best to keep the Watford forwards at bay.
Luke Shaw (LCB)
Shaw has looked solid in a three-man backline against Chelsea and Club Brugge. The Englishman will retain his place in Solskjaer’s starting XI.
Brandon Williams (LWB)
Williams had an off day against Club Brugge in Belgium, failing to make much of an impact going forward. The youngster, however, will be raring to put in a better performance at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Nemanja Matic (CM)
Matic has performed really well for the last month or so and should start in the midfield against the Hornets.
Fred (CM)
Fred has improved leaps and bounds after a slow start to the season. The Brazilian is a certainty to start alongside Matic in the middle of the park.
Bruno Fernandes (CAM)
Fernandes has made a decent start to his United career, showing glimpses of his quality during the 0-0 draw at home to Wolves and their 2-0 win at Chelsea on Monday. After a solid cameo against Club Brugge, the Portuguese will look to guide the Red Devils to three points at the weekend.
Daniel James (RS)
James’ form has faded after a bright start to his United career. However, the Welshman will be back in the starting XI after being an unused substitute at Brugge.
