Song Yadong made his MMA debut on the 18th of May, 2013 against Wuheng Zhao in a promotion called RUFF. However, his first match ended in a no-contest due to an illegal groin strike from Yadong himself.
He then bounced back with 4 consecutive victories. Following his 4 back-to-back victories, Yadong was caught in a rough patch. He won just 4 out of his next 8 fights, leaving him with a record of 8 wins and 4 losses.
On the 25th of November, 2017, Yadong made his UFC debut against Indian Bharat Khandare at UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs Gastelum. This was a featherweight bout, and Yadong won the fight via. submission in the first round.
Yadong went on a three-fight win streak, which came to a halt with a draw against Cody Stamann in December 2019. Then came his famous win over Marlon Vera. His first loss in the UFC came against Kyler Phillips at UFC 259.
His next win was against Casey Kenney at UFC 265 – a split decision win.
Yadong then went on to beat Julio Arce and Marlon Moraes before losing to Cory Sandhagen.
His record stands at 21 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw.
Song Yadong Family, Personal Life and Endorsements
Song Yadong was born on the 2nd of December, 1997 in Huland District, Harbin, China. Not much is known about Yadong’s parents, nor has he revealed them on social media or in any interview.
However, it was his mother, who sent him to the city of Dengfeng to study Wushu. He was hardly 16 when he made his MMA debut.
