Sonic Prime Season 2 Release Date and Cast

Published by

Sonic Prime will return for another season of animation on Netflix. Of its 24 episodes, eight have already been made available to viewers.

Sega’s blue blur embarks on an action-packed adventure where his fate of an unexpected multiverse rests solely in his hands. Now available for streaming is Avoid the Void as part of Season One on Netflix.

Cast

Sonic Prime Season 2 premiered on Netflix on July 13, 2023, picking up from Season 1. Fans and critics have both given high marks to this new adventure across multiple dimensions with Ready Steady Cut calling it “supersonic,” while Game Rant highlighted its fun action sequences and unique character designs.

The series takes place in Sonic’s Shatterverse, an ever-expanding multiverse created when his run-in with Dr. Eggman resulted in a universe-shattering event. Sonic must travel through all the realms of this multiverse to piece his prime reality back together and save his friends; along the way he encounters versions of himself from alternate realities as he traverses various cityscapes similar to New Yoke City, cyberpunk realms ruled by Dr. Eggman, and jungle environments which grow wild with nature unchecked by humans – where life cannot control him!

Deven Mack stars as Sonic in this show alongside Ashleigh Ball as Amy Rose, Shannon Chan-Kent as Tails and Adam Nurada as Knuckles the Dread. Other cast members include Brian Drummond as Eggman, Kazumi Evans as Intercom Voice and Vincent Tong as Gnarly Knuckles while Ian Hanlin returns as Hangry Cat. Season two brings more action and thrills than its predecessor while developing characters further and providing more engaging plot lines; CGI animation has also vastly improved since then!

Plot

Last year, Sonic Prime made an exciting debut on Netflix and audiences have eagerly anticipated more. Following in the vein of modern multiverse concepts, this exciting cartoon sees Sonic encounter strange new worlds filled with alternate versions of himself and his friends – winning critical praise from IGN, Ready Steady Cut and Game Rant among others.

This show follows Sonic as he attempts to restore order to his universe after an encounter with Dr. Eggman results in its complete unraveling. Sonic breaks apart the Paradox Prism, warping reality and creating what is known as the Shatterverse: five alternative dimensions called Shatterspaces formed from each Prism Shard that fractures reality – each world contains alternate versions of Sonic’s friends as residents.

Avoid the Void begins as Sonic and Shadow become trapped in an alternate dimension of Green Hill. They encounter Knuckles the Dread’s pirate crew as well as Black Rose’s robot robot counterpart; after an encounter with Dread, Sonic builds enough speed to enter Boscage Maze where Nine awaits him; unfortunately, Chaos Council arrives and takes Prism Shards from them; hence Sonic must fight to recover them and restore everything back to normal.

Trailer

Sonic is about to embark on an all-new journey! Netflix animated series Sonic Prime, produced by Sega of America, Man of Action Entertainment and WildBrain Studios will soon return for its second season after debuting back in December 2022 with positive critical reception, though some critics have also criticised its slow pacing and unclear narrative.

The initial season of Sonic the Hedgehog animated series revolved around Sonic’s journey to find and return the Paradox Prism, an artifact with reality-altering powers which had been lost during a battle against Dr. Eggman and created what is known as the Shatterverse; an alternate dimension filled with multiple versions of Sonic, his friends, and enemies alike. Now it is up to Sonic himself to restore reality while protecting it against threats coming from multiple dimensions.

Season 2 continues where Season One left off, as Sonic still grapples with the consequences of shattering the Paradox Prism and traversing his fractured Shatterverse, encountering cyberpunk environments governed by Eggforcer gang, jungle environments with nature out of control and even pirate realms.

The second season features the same cast as its predecessors, led by Deven Mack as Sonic and Ashleigh Ball as Tails, respectively. Brian Drummond voices Dr. Eggman; Kazumi Evans voices Security Drone; Vincent Tong voices Gnarly Knuckles; and Ian Hanlin voices Big. Additionally, Rusty Rose joins Knuckles Dread’s crew after being abandoned by Chaos Council – an addition which she became fond of during this new series!
