Steph Curry may want former Golden State teammate Kevin Durant back at the Warriors, according to Shannon Sharpe.
Arguably two of the best players of their generation, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant shared championship victories in 2017 and 2018. Shannon Sharpe, a sports analyst, however, thinks Curry preserved Durant’s legacy by bringing him to the Golden State Warriors for their championship runs.
Sharpe discussed how Curry welcomed Durant to Golden State on “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed”:
“Steph Curry is focused on success. After winning back-to-back MVP awards, he received Durant once at the height of his dominance, the last time in 2017. He opened his home, welcomed KD with open arms, and greeted him at the entrance. aided in transporting his belongings to Golden State. Not a single issue.”
Curry was and continues to be the team’s face, even though everyone at Golden State worked to get Durant signed. Curry may have requested to win again without Durant given the Warriors’ position before they signed Durant.
Sharpe likened Curry to another outstanding NBA player and said that Curry’s strategy was crucial in luring in Durant. “Steph Curry and D-Wade (Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat) both deserve mention for what they did and how they went about it. They were pretty secure, therefore they were willing to. Steph feels much safer now. He is now well established.”
Sharpe believes that given Durant’s failure with the Brooklyn Nets, Curry’s situation is even better. In this circumstance, Sharpe stated, “I get to sit back and I’m in the catbird seat. Kevin Durant’s legacy was preserved by Steph Curry. How did he leave his mark on Brooklyn? Please tell me what he constructed in Brooklyn.”
The Brooklyn Nets won just one postseason series despite their success when Durant was healthy. Sharpe thinks that because of who Durant and Curry are as individuals, they could team up once again to win.
Curry’s success without Durant will be another reason why the Warriors will remain Steph’s club regardless of what happens. Steph Curry welcomed Kevin Durant into Golden State to win a championship before and could do it again because of who he is as a person.
”Is it possible for Kevin Durant to claim a trophy and a team award without Steph Curry? without the name Wardell Stephen Curry on it? He is unable to say that.”
Sharpe believes that following Durant’s tenure in Brooklyn, Curry would welcome him back to Golden State, saying: “Come crawling back, man. He’s stranded on a desert island. He is without rations. Without water, he Although Steph Curry may sneer, fold his arms, and scream, ‘No, scram,’ that is not who he is. Steph got a good heart. He has a generous heart.”
Bringing back Durant improves Curry’s motivation to win since he now possesses practically every individual achievement a player could desire.
