Emma Raducanu will square off against Tamara Korpatsch at the round of 16 of the Stuttgart Open on Thursday, April 21st.
British No.1 Emma Raducanu began her campaign in Stuttgart with a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Australian star Storm Sanders in what was undoubtedly one of the most commanding wins of her season. The 19-year-old looked as determined as ever as she won her first match on a claycourt on the WTA Tour.
Raducanu also dismissed any injury fears after her last event at the Billie Jean King Cup after she lost to Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets. The reigning US Open Champion will now be aiming to get past Tamara Korpatsch to continue her run in Germany.
Meanwhile, Korpatsch has also impressed at the Stuttgart Open so far. The German started the tournament as a qualifier but couldn’t make it to the main draw by winning her games. But she made the most of her lucky loser card by beating Italy’s Camila Giorgi 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-1 in the first round.
Now, a new and more challenging task awaits Korpatsch in the form of Emma Raducanu.
Emma Raducanu vs Tamara Korpatsch Head to Head Stats
These two players have never faced each other on a professional tennis court. Their meeting in Germany will be the first time Raducanu and Korpatsch square off, and it will be on a clay court as well to make things more interesting.
Stuttgart Open 2022: Emma Raducanu vs Tamara Korpatsch prediction
Raducanu will be the clear favourite to progress into the next round but Korpatsch is bound to put up a fight against the Brit. Our prediction is a win in three sets for Raducanu.
