Guarachi and Routliffe will take on second seeds Schuurs and Krawczyk in the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open
Alexa Guarachi and Erin Routliffe have been on an impressive run of form at the Stuttgart Open. They began their campaign with a hard-fought win over Niculescu and Ninomiya and followed it up with a comprehensive victory in straight sets against No.4 seeds Dabrowski and Stefani. These victories will certainly give the pair the much-needed confidence before heading into this all-important encounter. The pair has had a pretty disappointing season so far and they will aim to turn things around and go the distance in Stuttgart.
Demi Schuurs and Desirae Krawczyk’s form coming into the Stuttgart Open
Demi Schuurs and Desirae Krawczyk are the No.2 seeds in the tournament and certainly one of the favourites to go all the way and clinch the title. In the first round, the pair beat the duo of Kichenok and Zimmerman in a hard-fought match 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. They followed it up with a comprehensive victory against Mihalikova and Park in the quarter-finals.
Schuurs and Krawczyk have had an underwhelming season so far by their standards. They haven’t won any silverware in 2023 and their best result this year has been the quarter-final appearance at the Australian Open. They are coming into this event after a first-round exit at the Miami Open and will be aiming to go all the way in Stuttgart to clinch their first title of the year.

Head to head and Predictions
Guarachi/Routliffe and Schuurs/Krawczyk have never played each other before on the WTA tour. This is the first professional head to head clash between the two pairs. Schuurs and Krawczyk are the outright favourites going into this match both in terms of form and rankings. It will be an uphill task for Guarachi and Routliffe in this encounter against the experienced duo but they are expected to pose a tough challenge. However, we expect the veteran duo to see off the challenge and win in three sets.
