No.3 seeds Melichar and Olmos will face the challenge of Russian duo Potapova and Kudermetova in the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open
Anastasia Potapova and Veronika Kudermetova are established singles players and it’s not often that they pair up for doubles matches. However, the Russian duo has been pretty impressive so far in Stuttgart. They are coming into this match at the back of two thoroughly commanding wins. The pair defeated no.1 seed Kichenok and Ostapenko in the first round and followed it up with straight sets win against Kato and Sutijadi. It remains to be seen if the Russians can once again bring their A-game in the semi-finals.
Nicole Melichar and Giuliana Olmos’ form coming into the match at Stuttgart Open
Nicole Melichar and Giuliana Olmos are the No.3 seeds in Stuttgart and are one of the strong contenders for the title. They began their campaign with a 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 victory over Ingrid Neel and Vivian Heisen. In the second round, they defeated Kolodziejova and Rosolska in straight sets to set up a semi-final clash against Potapova and Kudermetova.
Melichar and Olmos are both veteran doubles players but they do not necessarily always pair up together. However, in the first two matches so far, they have shown that they do share good communication between one another. It remains to be seen if Melichar and Olmos can win their first title together.

Head to head and Predictions
Potapova/Kudermetova and Melichar/Olmos have never played each other before on the WTA tour. This is the first professional head-to-head clash between the two pairs. Melichar and Olmos are the outright favourites going into this match both in terms of doubles form and rankings. It will be a challenging task for Potapova and Kudermetova in this encounter against the experienced duo, but they are expected to pose a tough challenge. We are predicting a win in three sets for Melichar and Olmos.
