The 102nd season of the NFL will reach its conclusion on the 9th of January (Regular-season). The Super Bowl LVI will be held a month later.
It will be the 56th Super Bowl in NFL history. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the defending champions.
NBC Network will be the official broadcasters of the game. The broadcasting rights were set to go to CBS Sports who have been major players in the NFL scene.
The deal was agreed way back in March 2019, after CBS Sports and NBC Network came to a consensus – 2021 Super Bowl rights went to CBS and 2022 Super Bowl rights to NBC.
In the United Kingdom where the game is followed the most, after the United States, BBC One and Sky Showcase will be the official broadcasters.
Sky NFL channel will also be providing the live broadcast of the Super Bowl 2022.
Super Bowl 2022 will be taking place on the 13th of February. A month after the regular season gets over on the 9th of January.
The Kickoff time is expected to be 6:30 pm ET. However, there have been instances when the games begin 15 to 20 minutes after that.
Super Bowl 2022 will be held in Inglewood, California. This will be the first Super Bowl since 1993, which is set to be held in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
It is also worth noting that this would be the first time the city of Inglewood is hosting a Super Bowl event.
The SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California will be hosting Super Bowl 2022. It is the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
The Stadium was opened on the 8th of September, 2020 and has a capacity of approximately 70,000.
It is expandable up to 100,240 for events like Super Bowl and WrestleMania.
The stadium was constructed by Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, the company that owns Los Angeles Rams and Arsenal Football Club. Billionaire businessman Stan Kroenke heads the company.
Super Bowl 2022 will take place on the 13th of February, 2022.
