His previous highest payday was for his win over Greg Hardy at UFC 264. The Australian knocked out Hardy in the first round, which earned him a stunning $221,000. In 2024, he defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik and earned $500k as prize.

Tai Tuivasa made his MMA debut on the 6th of July in 2012. He was just 19 then. Tuivasa defeated Simon Osborne in a promotion called Elite Cage Championships 2 in Australia.

Tuivasa then cruised to a 4-0 win record. He had taken a brief hiatus from the sport as he also tried his hand at pro-boxing.

Tuivasa then joined the Australian Fighting Championship. He made his debut against Brandon Sololi and came up trumps via. KO in the very first round, thereby also winning the AFC heavyweight championship in his first fight.

His performances landed him straight in the UFC. Tuivasa made his UFC debut in November 2017. He took on Rashad Coulter and knocked him out in the first round.

He then won his next two fights, which included a win over the dangerous Andrei Arlovski, at UFC 225.

Then began Tuivasa’s lean patch. He lost three back-to-back fights which began with a knockout defeat to the vastly experienced Junior dos Santos.

After getting back on track, he is currently pegged back by two back-to-back KO losses, against Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich. In 2024, he lost the final against Marcin Tybura.

Tuivasa’s MMA record currently stands at 14 wins and 8 losses.
