WWE Crown Jewel PPV was concluded on Thursday night in Saudi Arabia. A lot of breathtaking matches took place, and there was also the surprise appearance of Tareg Hamedi.
A lot of events took place at Crown Jewel. Some matches like Edge vs. Seth Rollins were heavily intensified, and the fans also got to see the winner of the first-ever Queen’s Crown and the King of the Ring winner. But there was an appearance of an Olympian at the event as well.
Hamedi is an Olympian from Saudi Arabia. He was the silver medalist in karate at the summer Olympics in Tokyo. In addition, Hamedi appeared in the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in his own country Saudi Arabia.
Tareg Ali Hamedi was born on 26th July 1998 in Saudi Arabia. He is an Arabian Karate, or we can say a Karate practitioner. Hamedi represented Saudi Arabia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but he won the silver medal as he knocked out his final opponent with an illegal kick.
Hamedi’s career started at a really early age. After becoming the world champion in Junior Kumite 76+ kg event at the 2015 World Junior, Cadet, and U21 Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia, he soon came into the limelight.
And this winning continued with winning his first gold medal in the Karate 1 Premier League. After that, Hamedia won another gold medal in the men’s Kumite +84 kg event at the Karate 1 Premier League held in Okinawa, Japan.
In the year 2017, he defeated Sajjad Ganjzadeh at Asian Karate Championship. Ganjzadeh was the world champion at this event at the time. Hamedi won the gold medal there as well.
Hamedi’s rise continued as he won one of the bronze medals in the men’s Kumite +84 kg event at the 2018 Asian Karate Championship held in Amman, Jordan. In addition, he is a bronze medalist in the men’s team Kumite event at the 2018 World University Karate Championships held in Japan.
In the 2018 Asian Games, Hamedi again won one of the bronze medals in the men’s Kumite +84 kg event. At the 2019 Asian Karate championships, he won a gold medal in the men’s Kumite and a silver medal in the team event.
Hamedi competed in the men’s +75 kg event at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo and got Saudi Arabia its second silver medal.
Hamedi made a surprise appearance at the Crown Jewel PPV as he confronted Mustafa Ali after Ali’s unfair attack on Mansoor. He knocked Ali with his superkick straight to the head just like he did in the Olympic final.
Tareg came to the ring with his face hidden completely, but he finally revealed himself once he stepped onto the mat. Mansoor is the first-ever WWE Superstar from Saudi Arabia, and he showed his agility in the ring to beat Ali at the Crown Jewel event.
It will be interesting to see if Tareg will be looking for an option in WWE, or it is just a mere appearance as the event was happening in his country. However, Mansoor has made his mark after making his debut at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
