Taynara Conti made her AEW debut recently in the Tag Team tournament
Former WWE star Taynara Conti recently made her AEW debut in a tag match. The Brazilian was one of the stars released by WWE due to the Coronavirus pandemic, even though she was set to be the next big thing on NXT.
The 25-year-old tried to get into the Brazil Olympic team for the 2016 games before she made it to WWE.
Conti is a black belt in Judo and has spoken about a desire to get into MMA. She is a regular viewer of the UFC and was proud of Jose Aldo too despite the veteran losing a title bout recently.
Nevertheless, Conti confirmed she was starting Muay Thai classes soon and wanted to get better.
Fun fact: I just signed up for Muay Thai classes and I’ll start on thursday 🤷♀️ Can’t wait to get better 👊

A big impact on AEW
Conti was paired with Anna Jay in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup tournament. The pair picked up the same coloured token to for the team and picked up a huge win in their debut match.
They defeated Ariane Andrew and former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose, which was a bit of a shock.
It will be interesting to see what is next for Conti and Jay. Jay also made a great debut as a singles star but pairing them up seems to be a smart move by AEW.
They could go all the way and become champions but there are some other quality wrestlers in the tournament.
Conti might not have been able to make it big on WWE but she has a real chance here on AEW. She isn’t the first star to jump ship from WWE and probably won’t be the last.
However, AEW certainly is doing a good job of beefing up their women’s roster with some smart signings.
