Carlos Alcaraz put up a sublime display to register a convincing straight sets victory over Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the Indian Wells.
On his day, the 19-year-old looks in a league of his own and it was no different last night as he cruised to a 7-6, 6-3 win over No.11 seed Jannik Sinner. The top-seeded Spaniard is now scheduled to face Daniil Medvedev in the final tomorrow.
Carlos Alcaraz’s incredible display mesmerised everyone including Tennis legend Billie Jean King. “@carlosalcaraz is a genius at playing tennis, and I feel fortunate to be alive to see it. He is a gift to our sport”, an overwhelmed King wrote on Twitter. With this win, Alcaraz is now on the brink of becoming the ATP World No.1 once again and a win in the summit clash against Medvedev will cement his spot for weeks to come.
