Carlos Alcaraz is one of the hottest players on the tour at the moment and will hope to begin the new season with a bang – does the Spaniard have tattoos?
Alcaraz’s season came to an unfortunate end when he was forced to retire during his quarter-final clash against Holger Rune in the Paris Masters in November. The Spanish sensation suffered an abdominal tear that ruled him out for six weeks. This stopped him from taking part in the Davis Cups Finals and the ATP Finals as well.
The 19-year-old Alcaraz ended the season as the world No. 1 in the ATP rankings. He will be raring to go when the new season gets rolling.
The resident of Villena, Spain, will be sporting a new tattoo in the new season as the star player recently got inked for the first time.
The tattoo is dedicated to his grandfather. Alcaraz shared a picture on Instagram of him getting ready for a tattoo. During his triumphant campaign at the Miami Open, Alcaraz revealed his grandfather’s words of encouragement that always helped him during crucial moments in his matches.
He remembers his grandfather’s motto of ‘cabeza, corazon, cojones’. It translates to “head, heart, balls” which are some critical things that hold a lot of value in his life and helps him strive for great things. Now, he will have the three words permanently depicted on his arm.
Will Carlos Alcaraz be seen in action at the upcoming United Cup?
The inaugural edition of the United Cup will feature 18 nations. Many top players will be seen in action at the tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz is not amongst the players who will be representing Team Spain at the United Cup. However, he will be featuring at the 2023 Australian Open that gets underway on January 16.
Tennis Fans are waiting with bated breath to see the 2022 US Open champion in action in the new season. It would be interesting to see if Alcaraz can repeat his heroics of last season in the forthcoming season.
