Elena Rybakina is one of the tallest players in women’s tennis – is she even taller than Novak Djokovic?
Elena Rybakina is one of the tallest active players in women’s tennis. She stands tall at 6 feet and is quite a personality both on and off the court. While she is certainly taller than many professional male Tennis stars out there, fans often wonder whether she is taller than even Novak Djokovic. Well, is she? – let us take a closer look through this article.
While it is not a common occurrence, there have been a few instances in recent years where female tennis players have been taller than their male counterparts.
Elena Rybakina is relatively tall for a female tennis player, standing at around 6 feet 0 inches (183 cm) in height and there are a few male tennis players who are shorter than her. However, if we particularly compare her height to Novak Djokovic, she is at least two inches shorter. Djokovic stands tall at 6 feet 2 inches and is taller than almost all active female players on the WTA tour.
Djokovic reached his current height of 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) during his late teens and early twenties. The majority of an individual’s height growth occurs during puberty, typically between the ages of 12 and 18 for males. After this period, height growth tends to stabilize, and any further changes in height are usually minimal.
Rybakina is one of the tallest female tennis players in the current circuit but she is shorter than each of the ‘Big Three’ of men’s Tennis. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are all taller than the WTA superstar.
Djokovic happens to be the tallest of the ‘Big Three’. Meanwhile, the retired Rohet Federer stands at 6 feet 1 inch (185 centimeters) tall. He was renowned for his elegant playing style and precise shot-making. Rafael Nadal also shares the same height as Federer, standing at 6 feet 1 inch (185 centimeters). Nadal is recognized for his relentless energy, powerful groundstrokes, and exceptional physicality.
Only one female tennis player from recent times has a similar height to Federer and Nadal – it happens to be Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic. She stands at 6 feet 1 inch (1.86 meters) tall. Her height gives her an advantage on the court, particularly on her serve. Pliskova has achieved great success in her career, reaching the world No. 1 ranking in women’s singles.
