Thiago Seyboth Wild is a 20-year-old from Brazil and is the first tennis star to catch the coronavirus
ATP’s decision to suspend all tennis-related activities until June 7 at least after careful consideration finally proved true on Wednesday.
The sport witnessed its first-ever player to have tested positive when upcoming Brazilian star Thiago Seyboth Wild was reported to have contracted the coronavirus.
The past two weeks had seen many athletes across different sporting platforms getting tested positive after being in contact with the new coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, in a major blow to the sport, tennis reported it’s first case of a positive Covid-19 case on Wednesday. 20-year-old Brazilian Seyboth became one of the youngest and latest players’ to have contracted the virus.

Thus, the ATP’s decision to have suspended all games until June last week seems to be a step in the right direction as it could play a major role in helping to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
ATP’s announcement meant that many players including the big stars of the game had to restrict themselves at home as part of mandatory safety requirements.
The ‘Big Three’ of tennis – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are all currently under self-quarantine at their respective homes and doing their best via social media to spread the awareness.

“Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve contracted the COVID-19 but I’ve self-isolated myself for the past week. And I’ve been taking care of myself and following the doctor’s instructions,” Seyboth said in the video.
He further urged everyone to understand the seriousness of the situation and requested everyone to stay at home.
“This is a reminder for you all to stay at home. Take care of the people you love and help us all to not spread this disease. Stay home, and stay safe,” he added.
Ranked 114 in the world right now, Seyboth had won his first-ever ATP title at Santiago just a few weeks back. The Brazilian had defeated second seed Casper Ruud 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the summit clash to walk away with the honours.
