Russian tennis star Karen Khachanov and his wife Veronika Shkliaeva have announced the birth of their second child. The couple welcomed their newborn boy on July 12 and have named him ‘Mikael’. Khachanov posted a picture of himself clutching his infant son’s hand on Instagram and shared the happy news with his fans and followers across the world. The Russian star also confirmed that both the mother and child are doing well.
Khachanov and Veronika started dating in 2011 – twelve years later, they are parents to two children. They tied the knot in 2016 and three years later, their first child ‘David’ was born. They are now a family of four and David is a big brother! Khachanov is not having the best of seasons but he will certainly be hoping that his newborn works as the lucky charm.
The Russian is understandably elated to have become a father for a second time and wrote on Instagram: “12.07.2023 welcome to the world my second baby boy Mikael.” Khachanov will get to spend some much-needed time with his family because he had earlier pulled out of Wimbledon due to an injury.
