Miomir Kecmanovic put up a stellar display against Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the Miami Open 2022
Miomir Kecmanovic was thoroughly impressive at the 2022 Miami Masters. The unseeded Serbian caused major upsets during his run to the quarter-finals of the events and fell just short of an epic win against Carlos Alcaraz. Kecmanovic pulled off a straight-sets win against Jack Sock in the first round and followed it up with a stunning 6-4, 6-2 against 7th seed Felix Auger in the next round.
The Serbian then went on to defeat Sebastian Korda in straight sets and got the better of reigning Indian Wells Champion, Taylor Fritz in a thrilling three-set match 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. The 22-year old was thoroughly impressive versus Alcaraz in the quarter-final. He won the first set but eventually lost the match in the third-set tiebreaker despite giving it all he had got.
However, irrespective of the result, Kecmanovic has certainly grabbed eyeballs of the entire tennis community. The Serbian is undoubtedly an emerging star and will be a force to reckon with in the future.

Miomir Kecmanovic is often compared fellow Serbian, Novak Djokovic. Supremely athletic, strong two-handed backhand, Serbian, strong on hard courts – too much in common isn’t it? Well, there is definitely something more to it. The potential, the talent and the precise execution, Kecmanovic has it in abundance. When you watch Kecmanovic play, you can definitely relate him to Djokovic in the early stages of his career. Kecmanovic is ab emerging star and certainly caught the notice of fans and pundits alike. Kecmanovic considers Djokovic his idol. The youngster has moulded his playing style and technique in a way that is very similar to the World No. 1. When it comes to head to head, both the players have played each other only once on the ATP tour. Djokovic came out on top on that occasion in the 2021 Belgrade Championship. Kecmanovic was scheduled to play Djokovic in the opening round of the Australian Open before the World No. 1 was unceremoniously deported from the country due to his vaccination status.
