Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini confirmed a few months ago that he has indeed split with Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic. In March, it was rumored that Berrettini and Tomljanovic had split after dating for over two years. In 2019, Berrettini and Tomljanovic went public with their relationship.

In a media interaction last month, Berrettini said – “Yeah, I’m single but it’s not like something that I am looking for, like, it’s not that I’m waking up and have to find love.”

“It’s just something that is happening, it’s good for me, if it doesn’t, it’s another day, you know. But, yeah, overall, I’m spending more time with my team, I spent a lot of time with my family when I was injured, and I enjoyed a different kind of life a little bit”, Berrettini further added besides confirming his break-up with Tomljanovic.

Tennis fans were disheartened over the split of one of their favourite tennis couples

Tennis fans were left stunned and disheartened by the news of Matteo Berrettini and Ajla Tomljanovic splitting up. The two players had been dating for the past few years and were often spotted during each other’s matches.

They recently deleted their pictures on Instagram, sparking rumors that they have ended their relationship. Neither Berrettini nor Tomljanovic commented on the matter for a long time until a few days back when Berrettini confirmed that the couple had indeed broken up.

Berrettini and Tomljanovic are presently busy with their respective careers and personal life. While the Italian is currently recovering from Covid-19 which forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon, Tomljanovic is gearing up for her quarter-final clash against Elena Rybakins in the same tournament.

Tomljanovic is in great touch at the ongoing Wimbledon while Berrettini’s withdrawal was really unfortunate. The Italian recently won the Queen’s Club grass courts Championships and was set for a great Grand Slam campaign but Covid had other plans.
