Alexander Zverev 2021 has been disqualified from the ATP 500 event for his unsportsmanlike conduct

World No. 3, Alexander Zverev has found himself in deep trouble with the Mexican Open authorities. Zverev and his Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo lost their doubles match 6-2, 4-6, 6-10. Zverev totally lost control over himself and after the customary handshake, he slammed the chair umpire’s seat with his racquet. He came very close to hitting the umpire but didn’t show any signs of remorse. He continued to shout at the umpire.

Zverev was angered by an umpiring call that didn’t go in his favour. The scoreline was 8-6 in the tie break when the German felt the ball should have been called ‘out’ but it was not. He started hurling abuses at the umpire in rage.

Zverev has been disqualified from the tournament!

The tournament authorities have officially announced that the German now stands disqualified. “Due to unsportsmanlike conduct at the conclusion of the doubles match on Tuesday night, Alexander Zverev has been withdrawn from the tournament in Acapulco”, the tournament’s official handle put out a statement on Twitter.
