The road to the quarters wasn’t easy either, Cornet defeated two former Grand Slam champions, Garbine Muguruza and Simona Halep, en route. Her dream run was cut short in the quarter-finals by eventual runner-up Danielle Collins.

Since the Australian Open, Cornet has registered only one win after being knocked out in the first round of the St. Petersburg Open and then in the second round of the Qatar Open.
