Stefanos Tsitsipas will face the challenge of Novak Djokovic in the group stage match of ATP Finals 2022
Stefanos Tsitsipas’ form coming into the match
Stefanos Tsitsipas will begin his campaign at the ATP Finals against Novak Djokovic on Tuesday. The Greek star is coming into this tournament after a semi-final loss against the same opponent, last week in Paris. Tsitsipas is seeded No.2 in this tournament and is grouped alongside Djokovic, Medvedev, and Rublev.
Tsitsipas’ highlight of the season has been successfully defending his title at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He also won his first title on grass in Mallorca. Besides winning the two titles, the Greek ace reached an additional five finals – Rotterdam, Rome, Cincinnati, Astana, and Stockholm.
Novak Djokovic’s form coming into the match
Novak Djokovic is seeded No.7 in the tournament and will aim to end the year on a high after missing out on several high-profile tournaments. The Serbian missed the Australian Open, the US Open, and a couple of Masters 1000 events because of his stance on Covid-19 vaccination. His biggest triumph this year came at Wimbledon, where he won his 21st Grand Slam title.
Djokovic is coming into this tournament after finishing as runners-up last week in the Paris Masters. He lost 6-3, 3-6, 5-7 to Holger Rune in the final. However, Djokovic showed glimpses of his class during the event and will look to be on the top of his game in Turin.
