Andy Murray will take on sixth seed Bautista Agut in the Round of 16 at the Basel Open
Andy Murray has been nowhere near his prime but has had some decent results so far this season. He has reached two finals on the ATP tour this year – Sydney and Stuttgart. His best outing at a Grand Slam this year came at the US Open, where he reached the third round but lost to Matteo Berrettini. He reached the quarterfinals in his previous tournament, the Gijon Open.
Murray is coming into this match after a hard-fought win in the first round. He defeated Roman Safiullin 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 in a closely contested affair.
Bautista Agut has been in good touch this season and has won two titles on the ATP tour in Doha and Kitzbühel. However, in his previous tournament, he suffered a shock first-round exit against unseeded Mackenzie McDonald in Naples. The Spaniard is seeded No.6 in this tournament and would look to end the year on a good note.
Bautista Agut is coming into this match following a comprehensive first round victory. The sixth seed defeated Serbia’s Laslo Dere in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

Murray and Bautista Agut have played each other five times previously on the ATP tour. The British star has a slight advantage and leads 3-2 on head-to-head. Their latest meeting came at the Doha Open earlier this year. Bautista Agut won the match convincingly in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. It promises to be an intense match, but the Spaniard is clearly the favourite both in terms of rankings and current form. We are predicting a win in three sets for Roberto Bautista Agut.
