Battle of the Brits Day Three results: Andy Murray progresses
Andy Murray assured his spot in the singles semi-final of the Battle of the Brits with a hard-fought win in the group decider.
Murray defeated James Ward 6-3, 7-5 in the winner-takes-all gruelling contest in the Tim Henman Group on Day Three to progress into the semi-final.
Though Murray looked a little fatigued due to the continuous games in the past two days, it was encouraging to see his intensity of movement and was able to dictate the longer points.
“When I played the match in November in Davis Cup. I was feeling my hip, it was sore and struggled to move. I’m feeling it a little just now, but it didn’t affect my movement. It’s the best I’ve moved of the three matches, but I’m delighted to get a rest day tomorrow,” Murray said during an on-court interview.
