Billie Jean King hails Lamoureux twins for their induction into U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

The legendary Billie Jean King follows many sports and hockey is among them. She hailed the Lamoureux twins as they finally got inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.

The prestigious U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inducted five big names as a part of the Class of 2022 – Steve Cash, Jim Johannson, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, Monique Lamoureux-Morando, and Ryan Miller.

Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando were two of the mainstays of the United States national team during their playing days, They are also two of the best hockey players that the country has ever produced.

The almost inseparable twins achieved a lot during their playing years and made their home nation proud frequently. Their names should have been enshrined in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in acknowledgment of their immense contribution to the sport and achievements while representing the nation.

Tennis stalwart Billie Jean King praised the twins on Twitter and congratulated them on their latest achievement. The 79-year-old wrote:

“Congratulations to ⁦@LamoureuxTwins (Jocelyne and Monique) on their induction last night into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.

The induction is a much-deserved accomplishment after 14 years with ⁦

Billie Jean King was one of the stalwarts of the women’s game and changed the landscape of women’s tennis through her sensational achievements.

The former world No. 1 tennis player retired in March 1990. In her last competitive match, King partnered with Jennifer Capriati and lost in the second round of the Virginia Slims of Florida tournament against Brenda Schultz-McCarthy and Andrea Temesvari 6-3, 6-2.

Billie Jean King finished with 39 major titles: 12 in singles, 16 in women’s doubles, and 11 in mixed doubles. She was also a member of the victorious United States team in seven Federation Cups.
