Carlos Alcaraz defeated compatriot Jaume Munar 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 16 of the Barcelona Open

Carlos Alcaraz was at his glorious best during his match against Jaume Munar in Barcelona. Alcaraz sealed a comfortable win in straight sets against his fellow Spaniard, displaying some world-class tennis. The crowd at the Pista Rafa Nadal was left thoroughly entertained by the teenager’s stellar show. Alcaraz’s stunning volley during the first set has particularly impressed the fans present at the stadium as well as those on social media. The clip of the Spaniard’s incredible volley went viral in no time.

Alcaraz is set to face top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the next round. The Spaniard is looking to come back strong after his early exit in the previous tournament in Monte Carlo. The teenager has been in hot form this year winning the Rio Open and the Miami Open but exhaustion and fatigue seemed to get the better of him in Monte Carlo. Alcaraz would aim to brush aside the one-off loss and be in prime touch in this tournament, treating it as an ideal warm-up event leading to the Roland Garros.
