Carlos Alcaraz has rarely played on grass since turning pro in 2018. He will be determined to better his performance this year at Wimbledon after a second-round exit in 2021 from the most prestigious tournament in tennis.

However, fans were worried after Alcaraz had a heavily strapped right elbow during his match against Tiafoe. The 19-year-old Alcaraz has been resting his elbow since his loss to Alexander Zverev in the Roland Garros quarter-final.

The talented youngster gave a positive update regarding the status of his elbow after his loss to the 25-year-old Tiafoe:

It’s just for precaution. A couple of weeks ago I had the problems, I couldn’t train well. I trained a couple of times at Wimbledon without pain, here I felt well.

“The first match on grass is never easy but I had fun out there. Of course I have more training ahead, a match on Saturday here as well to get ready and to get 100 per cent for Wimbledon.”

Tennis fans across the world would be relieved after getting assurance straight from the horse’s mouth. Alcaraz has been in scintillating form this year.
