Here’s everything you need to know about Casper Ruud’s loving pet – dog Don Bajas.
Casper Ruud and his girlfriend, Maria Galligani adapted a delightful Maltese-Shih Tzu mix breed pet dog in 2020 and named him ‘Don Bajas’.
Shortly after, Bajas made his first appearance on Instagram with the stylish username @don_bajas. Since Bajas became a part of the Ruud family, apa “Papa Casper,” has achieved considerable success on the tennis tour.
His journey culminated in reaching the final of a major tournament, Roland Garros, earlier in 2022, where he secured an impressive second-place finish, with idol Rafael Nadal taking the top spot. He followed it up with several more commendable performances on the ATP tour.
The Ruuds treat Bajas as an integral part of their family. They include him in various activities, such as taking him to the tennis courts and even bringing him along on holidays, where Bajas is packed in a bag. On a particular occasion at the tennis court, Ruud shared a photo of his beloved pet on Instagram, humorously captioning it as “Take your child to work day.” Bajas’ Instagram profile is filled with captions affectionately referring to Ruud and Galligani as mummy and daddy, showcasing the depth of care Ruud has for animals, which is just as significant to him as his passion for tennis.
Don Bajas is a part of the Maltese-Shih Tzu mix breed
Don Bajas belongs to the Maltese Shih-Tzu mix breed which is the result of crossing a Maltese with a Shih-Tzu. This hybrid breed combines the best traits of both parent breeds, creating an adorable and affectionate companion dog with a delightful personality.
This breed is a delightful, affectionate, and adaptable companion, making them a popular choice for many dog lovers seeking a small and loving pet. The typical lifespan of a Mal-Shi is around 12 to 15 years, depending on the individual dog’s health and care.
Don Bajas is of a small and compact size. It stands between 8 to 11 inches (20 to 28 cm) tall at the shoulder and weighs around 6 to 12 pounds (2.7 to 5.4 kg). It is of friendly and loving nature. Bajas tends to be affectionate, social, and enjoys spending time with the Ruud family. It is great with children and other pets, making him an ideal choice for the Ruud household. It is quite playful and is an apt partner-in-crime for Ruud on Tennis courts.
