Ajla Tomljanovic has had an outstanding run so far in Cincinnati. She started her campaign with two rounds of qualifying before defeating America’s Taylor Townsend in the Round of 64 of the main draw. In her second round, the Australian pulled off a major upset against no.3 seed Paula Badosa, coming back from a set down to win 6-7, 6-0, 6-2. She then got the better of Veronika Kudermetova, once again coming back from a set down to win in three sets.
