Dan Evans is a veteran tennis player and the current British world No. 2. He recently gave his reasons for not watching the upcoming tennis documentary Break Point on Netflix.
Ever since the teaser of ‘Break Point’ dropped on social media, a section of fans have been quite sceptical and unwilling to give it a watch. Break Point is produced by acclaimed documentary filmmakers – Paul Martin (of Make Us Dream and Diego Maradona) and James Gay-Rees (Senna, Amy).
The web series will show how the lives of players were on and off the court in 2022. Many big names like Nick Kyrgios, Ons Jabeur, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Aryna Sabalenka and others will be featured in the series. However, a section of fans aren’t too pleased with the 50-second teaser that surfaced a few days ago. Many are not happy with the players who have been chosen while others feel that only casual fans will find it interesting and not the die-hard ones.
Dan Evans has voiced his opinion regarding the matter. He took a swipe at Stefanos Tsitsipas and the whole series that will be releasing on January 13. Evan, during an interview, told reporters in Scotland that the documentary would be “acted”. The southpaw also said that it will show some characters people aren’t too interested in watching like “tennis dad”, referring to Tsitsipas’ father Apostolos.
“You could have hand picked who they were going to choose. It is so predictable. We’ll have to listen to Tsitsipas and a tennis dad. It’s not for me. It’s all acted, you can see it. Come on.”
