World No.2 Daniil Medvedev revealed on Twitter what his favourite car is, while reacting to a viral Tennis clip of Stefan Kozlov
Tennis fans around the world do not generally see the funny side of Daniil Medvedev but the Tennis star did give his fans a good laugh on Twitter when he reacted to a clip that shows Stefan Kozlov leaving a mark on a car in frustration. Medvedev is known around the world as an aggressive young athlete who plays with his heart on his sleeves.
He has often been involved in altercations with the crowd as well as the chair umpires. Most recently, he was booed at the Australian Open and even got involved in a nasty verbal altercation with the chair umpire during his semi-final match of the Grand Slam against Stefanos Tsitsipas. This reaction from him on Twitter, therefore, does come as a pleasant surprise to many who haven’t seen his funny side before.
Stefan Kozlov is an American tennis player who was playing the Delray Beach Open Quarter-Final against his fellow countryman, T. Paul when this incident occurred. Kozlov was having a hard time returning his opponent’s heavy shots when he seemed to lose control and hit the car nearby out of frustration. Kozlov eventually lost the match 3-6, 1-6.
The tennis star has endorsement deals with BMW, the German luxury cars manufacturer. He signed his first contract with the company in 2019 which was further extended in 2021 owing to Medvedev’s rise as a global star. The Russian has always been vocal about his love for cars and this tweet definitely leaves no doubt which brand tops his list.
The tweet went viral in no time. While a certain section of tennis fans had a good laugh about it, some fans were quick to point out a similar incident in which Medvedev smacked a camera on the court at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati back in 2021. Fans do always love to have a go at Medvedev be it in the Tennis stadium or on social media and this was evident once again.
