Stefanos Tsitsipas is gearing up to play at the Indian Wells Masters in California
Stefanos Tsitsipas took to Twitter to convey his greetings on International Women’s Day which is celebrated across the World on March 8. The Greek star is currently in California, United States, preparing for the Indian Wells Masters but didn’t forget to wish everyone on the special occasion. Tsitsipas is seeded No.2 in the tournament and will play his first-round match against Jordan Thompson on March 11.
“Happy International Women’s Day! Let’s celebrate women’s amazing contributions and progress towards equality. To all women: your strength, resilience, and grace are powerful. Let’s work towards a brighter future where all women can thrive”, Tsitsipas wrote on Twitter. Despite a wholesome wish, the tweet received mixed reactions from fans on social media. While there were a number of positive responses, the trollers didn’t miss out on dissing out at the player.
Let us take a look at some of the reactions from fans on Twitter.
“I appreciate your sincere and deep words, but i never accepted this celebration, i never understood it….its my problem of course”, wrote a fan.
“How many women’s matches have you watched beginning to end in the last year big talker?”, tweeted a fan, who is evidently critical of the Greek.
“Did you also copy that from Google?”, trolled another fan.
“Yes, definitely a work in progress. Equality of opportunity, no fear of retribution, being heard and celebrated for what we are”, read a tweet.
