Dominic Thiem will feature in the upcoming charity tournament named ‘Adria Tour’

Dominic Thiem issued a warning to his tennis counterparts ahead of the upcoming charity tournament in the Balkans this month.

Thiem claimed that he would be the best-prepared for the tournament named ‘Adria Tour’ which is organised by the current world No.1 Novak Djokovic.

The Austrian suggested that he is the only player who will be best prepared as he had had the opportunity to play some competitive before the coronavirus lockdown.

Thiem last played at the Austrian Pro-Series tournament in his native land recently. The Austrian voiced his opinions recently during an interview with the public relations agency New Media Team.

“I am very lucky because I think I am the only tennis player in the tournament who has already played some competitive matches. I had the opportunity to play the Pro Series in Austria and everything seems to indicate that I will be the best-prepared tennis player in Belgrade.”

The event conducted by Djokovic will be played between June 13 and July 5 for charity in the Western Balkans.

Thiem highlights the humanitarian nature of the tournament

Thiem also highlighted the humanitarian nature attached to the charity tournament, especially in a difficult time such as this when the whole world is gripped under the coronavirus fear.

The tournament aims to raise funds for different humanitarian projects in the region and the countries from which the tennis players come.

It also will help the players regain form and competitive rhythm. The stars have been out of action for the past three months.

Other major tennis stars who have confirmed their participation in the upcoming tour include German Alexander Zverev, Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, Croatians Borna Coric, Marin Cilic, and Serbian Viktor Troicki.

Djokovic will play in all tournaments across the Balkans, Dimitrov is also most likely to join him. However, Thiem and Zverev will participate only in some of them.
