World No.6 Elina Svitolina spoke about her relationship with Gael Monfils
Svitolina and Monfils are some of the best power couples in world tennis. The pair got engaged this year, in April, as Svitolina showed off her engagement ring on social media.
Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils have been in a relationship since 2019, and only two months before announcing their engagement, the pair announced that they had split. However, things turned out to be just fine after that.
More recently, at the post-match interview during French Open 2021, Svitolina opened up on her relationship with Monfils. She had a hilarious take on her relationship with the Frenchman.
When asked if they always agree with each other while talking about tennis, or if they had different opinions, Svitolina replied:
“Well, he [Monfils] always has to agree with me because I’m the boss in the house [chuckles].”

Svitolina made light work of American, Ann Li in the second round of the 2021 French Open. She beat Li in straight sets bageling her in the first set and taking the next one 6-4.
She had previously beaten Oceane Babel in the first round, which was in straight sets as well.
Svitolina is now set to take on Czech Republic’s World No. 33 Barbora Krejčíková in the third round.
The match is scheduled to be held tomorrow. Svitolina will be looking forward to making a statement at this year’s Roland Garros, since she has never gone past the quarter-finals of the tournament, which she has done thrice.
