Ernests Gulbis lost his cool during an ATP Challenger event where he faced Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo in a Round of 32 matches.
The Latvian tennis pro, Ernests Gulbis failed to get his second serve right during the seventh game of the first set which was tantalizingly poised at 3-3 and 40-30 in favor of his opponent. After losing a crucial point and the game, Gulbis hurled his racket in the air and let out some expletives before storming toward his chair.
“”F* this f**** event,” said a frustrated Gulbis after conceding the game.
Luckily, the racket didn’t hurt anyone. The former world No. 10 managed to calm himself down to win the set and the following one as well to progress through to the round of 16. The eventual scoreline was 7-6, 6-4 in favor of the veteran.
Gulbis has his share of critics and this outburst will certainly provide them food for thought. An experienced player like him should conduct himself in a better way during matches.
