Iga Swiatek has been on fire this year. She has dominated women’s tennis and won titles for fun. The Polish star tops the chart for the top earner of 2022.
The World No. 1 Iga Swiatek began the year with a semi-final run at Adelaide before being ousted by eventual champion Ashleigh Barty. At the Australian Open, she once again made it to the semi-final stage before going down to Daniell Collins. Swiatek took part in the Dubai Tennis Championships but couldn’t progress beyond the round of 16.
The dream run began at the Qatar Open. She won the tournament defeating some of the finest players in modern-day tennis like Maria Sakkari, Aryna Sabalenka, and Anett Kontaveit among others.
Swiatek followed it up with wins at the Indian Wells Masters, the Miami Open, the Stuttgart Open, the Italian Open, and the French Open. Therefore, she won six titles on the trot. She dropped only six sets across the six tournaments.
With such staggering achievements, it doesn’t come as a big surprise that the first player representing Poland to win a major singles title leads the list of the highest earners in 2022.
She has earned $6,64 million and is ahead of the likes of Rafael Nadal ($6,42 million), Carlos Alcaraz ($4,76 million), Novak Djokovic ($4,23 million), and Stefanos Tsitsipas ($4,16 million).
