Tommy Paul currently plying his trade in the 2022 Paris Masters, showed off a stunning racquet spin skill during a game break
Tommy Paul came into the Paris Masters on the back of a disappointing campaign at the Vienna Open. He was ousted in the first round by former US Open champion Dominic Thiem. Paul began his Paris Masters campaign against Roberto Bautista Agut in the round of 64. The American youngster managed to win the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
Thanks to this win, Paul set up a clash with the legendary Rafael Nadal in the second round. The 22-time Grand Slam champion blew away Paul in the first set but the world No. 31 managed to bounce back strongly to eventually win the match 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1. This is certainly the biggest win for Paul in his career. Nadal’s wait for a title in Bercy continues and this loss gives Carlos Alcaraz a chance to finish the year as the No. 1.
During the match, Paul showed a unique skill while sitting on his chair. He gave his racquet a good rip and it continued spinning for a few seconds before falling down. Paul also seemed quite content with his effort.
Let’s take a look at how the tennis world reacted to Tommy Paul’s unique skill during his match against Rafael Nadal.
Tommy Paul will meet Pablo Carreno Busta in the round of 16 of the Paris Masters on Thursday.
