Andy Roddick and Chris Evert indulged in banter on Twitter they noticed a false information being circulated about them. 18-time Grand Slam singles champion Chris Evert was referred to as a former coach of 2003 US Champion Andy Roddick on Twitter. Both players brushed it off as fake information and had a good laugh about it, as fans on Twitter also joined in.

The false piece of information first caught the attention of Roddick, who replied on the original tweet: “Not true, but if you want the best hypothetical high school team, then it’s all yours 🙂 Cheers!” After seeing Roddick’s tweet, Evert joined in and tweeted: “Andy!!!! I was your coach!!! (according to this article) anyway…. Boca Prep had the BEST team.” To this tweet, Roddick responded: “I wish you would’ve been my coach. Pretty sure my backhand would’ve been better.” Evert then joked: “Well, thank you, but you would’ve had no serve.”
