Top seed Iga Swiatek is set to face teenager Coco Gauff in the summit clash at the Roland Garros
Iga Swiatek’s form coming into the match
World No.1 Iga Swiatek stormed into her second Roland Garros final with a dominating 6-2, 6-1 victory over Daria Kasatkina in the semis.
Earlier, Swiatek defeated 11th seed Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-2 to set up a semi-final clash against Kasatkina. In the fourth round, the top seed came back from a set down to defeat Qinwen Zheng 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the last eight in Paris. The World No.1 has been in sublime touch and has had a dominant run so far in the tournament, extending her streak of unbeaten matches to 34.
Swiatek defeated Lesia Tsurenko 6-2, 6-0 in her first-round match in Paris. She defeated the Ukrainian in just 54 minutes – her fastest win of 2022. In the second round, Swiatek completely decimated America’s Alison Riske 6-0, 6-2 and followed it up with another comprehensive win in straight sets against Danka Kovinic in the third round.
Coco Gauff’s form coming into the match
The American teenager, Coco Gauff has been in sublime touch in Paris. Gauff is yet to drop a set in her entire campaign and has won every match in a dominating fashion.
The 18th seed started her campaign with straight-set wins over Rebecca Marino, Allison Van Uytvanck, and Kaia Kanepi in the first three rounds. She then defeated no.31 seed, Elise Martins, in the fourth round and followed it up with another impressive victory against compatriot Sloane Stephens. Gauff defeated Italy’s Martina Trevisan in the semis to set up a clash against Swiatek.

Swiatek and Gauff have met each other two times before on the WTA tour. On both occasions, the Polish ace came out on top and leads 2-0 on the head to head. Their last meeting came three months back at the Miami Open, which Swiatek won comfortably in straight sets.
