Ghana players reveal their ordeal after returning back to their home country

The players of the Ghana wheelchair Tennis team went through an absolute nightmare after encountering armed robbers in Nigeria. They were thankfully out of it without any casualties or grievous injuries and upon reaching Lagos, they were given the required medical attention. They were eventually brought back to their home country earlier today and some of the members revealed the ordeal they had to go through.

“One of the armed robbers smashed the front door screen and splashed the glass in the side cheek of one player, Bernard, and he was bleeding”, narrated the team’s coach Philip Plange. He further added: “Others girls sitting close to me also got injured, they started shooting the car, the driver gathered courage and drove us away from the scene. He followed some buses with speed and that is what got us saved.” The coach also revealed that the bus they were travelling in was hired on a 12,000 dollar loan given by the National Tennis Federation and they have no idea how to pay it because they have lost their valuables and cash to the robbers.
