Let us take a look at two of the most anticipated clashes in the quarter-finals stage of Hamburg Open 2022
Slovakia’s Alex Molcan has been pretty impressive so far in the Hamburg Open. The 24-year-old started his campaign with a straight sets victory over Germany’s Marko Topo. Molcan then caused a major upset against No.4 seed Pablo Carreño Busta 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 to set up a Quarter-final clash against Borna Coric.
In the first round, Coric sent Laslo Djere packing from being a set down before crushing Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-4 in the second. Both times, Coric was the second favorite going into the encounter and won, making the bookmakers change things around for this one. He is a 4/5 favorite heading into this quarterfinal and having tasted Challenger success recently should also give him that confidence of playing back-to-back matches in a week.

Molcan and Coric have never faced each other before on the ATP tour. While Molcan is a way higher ranked player, Coric starts a favorite in this one, given his present form. We are predicting a win in three sets for Borna Coric.
Fokina has had a commendable season so far, collecting 18 wins from 37 matches and reaching the final at the Monte-Carlo Masters in April. He began his campaign in Germany with a formidable win against fifth seed Biotic Van De Zandschup and followed it up with another potent display against Slovakian qualifier Jozef Kovalik.
Musetti has amassed 21 wins from 39 matches this season and a title-winning run at the Forli 6 Challenger in Italy. He also made the quarterfinals at the Maharashtra Open, Grand Prix Hassan II and Rotterdam Open. The World No. 62 leveled the playing field in Hamburg with encouraging wins over Dusan Lajovic and Emil Ruusuvuori in straight sets to reach his fourth quarterfinal in 2022.

Davidovich Fokina and Lorenzo Musetti have never faced each other before and their head-to-head is 0-0. The Spaniard will be up against a tricky opponent and might need to dig deep to secure a spot in the last four, but should be able to outlast his opponent and come out on top. We are predicting a win in three sets for Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
