Spain seems to have another rising talent in their hands in Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz might only be 16 but he is in safe hands under Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Ferrero is a former tennis star and is currently coaching the 16-year-old. Alcaraz seems to have a bright future ahead of him, and his coach believes there is a ton of potential in him.

The teen has a ranking of 318 and has played just a couple of major games this year, but he is being compared to some of the best in the world.

Ferrero was speaking to Murciaplaza and compared Alcaraz to Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem:

“He is a very dynamic player who handles all blows, like Thiem. His tennis has more similarities with that of Federer and Djokovic than with that of Nadal, as he seeks to finish the points on the net and whoever has a chance goes for him. “

Taking small steps

Alcaraz still has a long way to go, and Ferrero highlighted what the plans are for the teen.

The Spaniard claimed that the goals being set up that are achievable:

“You have to set goals that are difficult to achieve and motivating, because it is precisely about motivating day-to-day motivation.”

Alcaraz has a lot of time on his hands to continue his development and seems to be in great hands.

Ferrero confirmed that he is looking at other players but he is solely concentrating on the 16-year-old.

Comparing him to some of the greatest in the world is certainly putting a lot of pressure on Alcaraz.

However, the youngster seems to be doing well and with Ferrero guiding him, the sky is the limit for the 16-year-old.
