Both Diego Schwartzman and Federer were part of the Laver Cup for Team World and Team Europe respectively
Diego Schwartzman returned with an interesting gift from the Laver Cup, despite not being on the same team as Roger Federer – the Argentine has revealed. Schwartzman, who was a part of Team World at the Laver Cup, has revealed a funny incident involving him and Team World’s Roger Federer. Schwartzman’s Team World won the Laver Cup, which happened to be Federer’s last professional tournament.
“He laughs a lot about how I pronounce his name, ‘Rosher’, in the Argentine way. During the Laver Cup, he gave me his racket and he signed it writing ‘Rosher'”, revealed Schwartzmann. This year’s Laver Cup was marked by Federer’s retirement from professional tennis and besides Schwartzman, Stefanos Tsitsipas also received a signed racket from the Swiss star. After the Laver Cup ended, Tsitsipas posted a photo of him sleeping next to a signed Federer racket.
