Daniil Medvedev has revealed his own signature logo in partnership with his apparel and clothing sponsor Lacoste
Daniil Medvedev has revealed his own signature logo and the Russian was spotted sporting it during his first-round match at the Australian Open. The logo was visible on his outfit as well as on his Lacoste shoes and Tecnifibre racquet. One could argue that the logo is a good omen as Medvedev cruised to a 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 victory against Marcos Giron in his first-round encounter at the Rod Laver arena.
The logo has been designed with the purpose of making it look similar to a gaming controller. The four key parts of the mark feature a “D” on the left and an “M” on the right, on obvious link to the tennis star’s initials. Below the initials come two lines, which are meant to symbolize the two “i’s” in Daniil. On the top is a circle, representing a tennis ball. Below the controller-shaped design is written “Daniil M.”
According to Medvedev’s apparel and clothing sponsor Lacoste, the design is inspired by the codes of gaming and it appropriately characterizes the personality of Medvedev both on and off the court.
Fans react to Daniil Medvedev’s new logo
Let us take a look at some of the reactions from fans on social media.
“It’s unique atleast but not the biggest fan. The double I could have been something more representative of daniil but I’m sure he’s happy enough with it”, wrote a fan.
“How nice of Medvedev to give Thiem his own logo”, commented another fan.
“Other than the Domi aspect – quite glaring I must admit – I think it’s cool. Gives me controller robot vibes. Very Meds lol”, read a comment.
“What people see: DM = Daniil Medvedevii = ii in Daniil circle = a tennis ball whole logo = gaming controller O = Octopus whole logo = a man with shields representing Meddy’s defending game. DOMII = he just really likes Dominic Thiem”, joked another fan.
Another fan wrote: “If you have to explain a logo, it’s not a very good logo.”
