The tennis world was in shock when a couple of weeks ago, news broke out of Camila Giorgi faking that she is vaccinated.
The investigation began and doctor Daniela Grillone came under the spotlight. The 57-year-old was found to be against the idea of vaccination.
Now, things have taken a turn for the worse as the doctor has admitted to Corriere del Veneto that she dumped the vaccine on the toilet and falsified her vaccination certificate.
The doctor has also said that the tennis star requested fake vaccination certificates for herself and her family.
“I can confirm with absolutely certainty that none of the vaccines to Camila Giorgi and her family were effectively injected,” she said.
Giorgi travelled to countries like Australia and the United States to play tennis in 2022. Both countries allowed foreign travelers only after they produced valid vaccination certificates against COVID-19. It goes without saying that Giorgi produced vaccination certificates to play in the tournaments. The world No. 66 can land into big trouble now after these claims from her doctor.
What’s next for Camila Giorgi?
If Camila Giorgi is let off the hook, which seems quite unlikely now, she will be seen in action at the Adelaide International 2.
The Italian star will be playing in the qualifiers of the Adelaide International 2. Her campaign begins on Saturday as she locks horns with Soran Cirstea.
It will be tough for the 31-year-old to focus on her game at the moment with all that is going on outside. Let’s see how things pan out in the next few days.
