“Iconic final” – Emma Raducanu expresses her delight after attending the FIFA World Cup final

Emma Raducanu was in attendance at the Lusail stadium as Argentina edged out France in a thrilling FIFA World Cup finale.

Emma Raducanu appears to have totally enjoyed her short stay in Qatar and is returning home after witnessing one of the best sporting finals ever. Raducanu travelled to Doha to watch the World Cup final between Argentina and France on December 18. Messi’s Argentina defeated France in the penalty shootout to lift their third-ever World Cup trophy.

Raducanu is an ardent football lover and she certainly didn’t want to miss the grand final of the World Cup. The tennis star supports England and was more a neutral during the final. England was earlier eliminated after losing to France 1-2 in the quarter-finals stage.

She wrote: “Short but sweet stay in futuristic dohaaa🇶🇦iconic final.”

Raducanu also had the opportunity to meet football superstar David Beckham, who was attending the final as well. Beckham shared a picture of the pair on his Instagram Story, writing: “So good to see you. What a game”. Raducanu then reposted the photo on her own account and along with a video of Lionel Messi lifting the World Cup trophy.

Emma Raducanu travelled from Abu Dhabi to Doha to attend the Final

Raducanu was playing in an exhibition tennis tournament in Abu Dhabi – the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. It is an exhibition tournament which featured six male and two female leading tennis stars and has been taking place in UAE since 2009. It has grown in popularity over the years, evolving into one of the world’s most sought-after tennis events and earning a prestigious place in the international sports calendar.

Raducanu lost her match against Ons Jabeur on December 16. She did well to win a set but lost in the deciding tie-break 10-8. The WTA star then made the short trip from UAE to Qatar to watch the World Cup final.
